Why study with us?
Rossdales have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with TOCES over the last 20 years. We have been delighted to collaborate with and contribute to teaching and training at TOCES, and also to benefit from it. At Rossdales we pride ourselves on delivering the highest possible standards of veterinary and nursing care to our equine patients, and have the largest team of qualified equine nurses in the UK. Many of our own equine nursing staff have completed their training and qualifications with TOCES.
We are hugely grateful to Julie Brega and her team for the high quality provision of learning resources, and look forward to a close and mutually beneficial relationship with TOCES for many years to come.Richard Payne BSc, BVSc, CertES(Orth), DipECVS, MRCVS
Rossdales Equine Hospital is delighted that TOCES has set up an equine veterinary nursing course and technician course too. This affords us a local centre to ensure that our nursing staff continue to be trained to a high level. We are also glad that our staff are able to play a part in contributing to the teaching on these courses.Professor Tim Greet, FRCVS
High quality course material and teaching provision
Printed and online course material is written and reviewed by a team of highly qualified experts, including specialist equine veterinary surgeons and nurses, and presented in an easy to read, distance learning format. The calibre of course tutors is second to none; in addition to a wealth of equine industry experience, all of our tutors are qualified veterinary nurses or veterinarians, registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons; some are world-renowned experts in their field.
Leading international equine distance learning college
Established in 1988, we are the leading international equine distance learning college offering more than 50 equine distance learning programmes. We are an approved training centre, accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), City and Guilds, Edexcel, the British Horse Society (BHS).
In addition we are accredited by the Accreditation Committee for Veterinary Nurse Education (ACOVENE). The Committee sets standards for the delivery of veterinary nurse education and stipulates the minimum curriculum content for an accredited programme within EU member countries.
Excellent course support
The friendly team at TOCES is dedicated to providing you with the best levels of advice and support. Office and tutorial staff are available to assist you at all reasonable times via telephone, e-mail and live chat.
Whilst TOCES offers a greater range of courses, is highly professional and is associated with more world-renowned equine organisations than any other equine distance learning college, we are proud of our reputation of having a friendly and personal approach with our students.
We specialise in Equine Nursing
ALL of our veterinary nursing and technician programmes focus on the equine species. While we cover other species required as part of core units of some programmes, unlike other colleges, we introduce the equine provision from day one!
This ensures the programme is relevant to your experience and interest, keeping you motivated in your studies and prepared for examinations and assessments.
Progressing to higher education?
TOCES Pearson devised BTEC courses are on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). TOCES centre devised BTEC courses, i.e. TOCES bespoke designed courses accredited by Pearson (BTEC), are on the Self Regulating Framework (SRF). When selecting a course with a view to using it as an entry qualification for other higher education institutions (HEIs) it is important to check their entry criteria and confirm that they will accept SRF programmes as well as QCF programmes.
